I Need Some Advice!!

Okay, so we are going to be doing a road trip here soon to Missiouri! We are leaving on the 31st of this month and coming home the 9th of August. What I need advice about, is how do I do this with a nearly 4 month old baby?? So far our plan is to leave around his bedtime and drive through the night but this is not just a short little drive. So any advice that all you seasoned mothers could give me, would sure be appreciated. We are SO excited to be going out to Missouri finally to see family and let them all meet Talon.

Definitely drive through the night. FOR SURE. We've always been really lucky driving with our kids, it just always works out. I think in the dark the movement of the car is really relaxing to babies.

When my son was 6 months old I drove about 9 hours from UT to CO and suprisingly he slept most of the time. I think the car puts them right to sleep. I even left early on the morning and he had slept all night. It was so much easier than I thought it was going to be. If he generally does well in the car I don't think you will have any trouble. Oh, and he is so cute. It has been forever! Hope all is well!

It should be pretty easy, cause he is still small. If Josh can do through the night, cool. I AM SO EXCITED to see you guys!! It will be awesome....Girls night for sure! Yay!

We have made the trip from here to SLC about a million times, which ends up being about 11 hours. And I agree with everybody else, when they are that little, its pretty easy. They sleep the whole way, and somehow still miraculously sleep when you get where you're going! Best advice I can give is just that babies 100% feed off their mom's emotions, so if you don't stress, he won't!

My advice is when he is awake sit in the backseat with him. It will help to keep him entertained.

BTW My blog is going private in two weeks or so if you want to keep looking at it I need your e-mail so I can send you an invite.

Benedryl. Seriously. I think like a quarter of an ounce is ok for his age but you can ask your doctor what is a safe dose for his size too. My cousin's doctor told her to use it for her brand new baby and my friend who is a medical assistant told me to try it with Hayden when we leave for Bear Lake this weekend. Have a fun trip! :)
